The Meeting of Houses

I recently completed my largest commission piece to date for the Albany Parking Authority in Albany NY titled "The Meeting of Houses".  This project has been in the works for over a year, and took a team of engineers, contractors, installers, and other specialists to complete.  Fabricated from structural steel, architectural copper, and cast concrete, the piece stands roughly 12' tall and weighs roughly two tons.  I'm thankful for the opportunity to not only tackle a project of this magnitude, but be allowed creative license to investigate new processes and material combinations.  I want to give thanks to the Parking Authority, it's Director Sean Palladino for trusting me, SRA Engineering and Bradley King for their work on the support pad, and Matt Crane of Silver Cranes Studios for assistance on a number of fronts.  I also want to thank Rachael Pratt who took these amazing process shots of the install, and other friends and family who assisted along the way.  Stop down to Quackenbush Square to see it, and let me know what you think!

Here's a nice little writeup by the Times Union on the work:
